The Significance of The CheeseheadAfter watching this video I realized the importance of the cheesehead to Packer nation. To the surprise of many, the cheesehead actually originated from a brewers fan in 1987. The cheesehead was made by a man named Ralph Bruno. Shortly after this first foam head was made for a brewers game, they were in mass production for the Packers 1987 football season. A great example of the importance of the cheesehead for packer nation is to go to a packer game. At a Packer game, everywhere you look, you will see people wearing cheeseheads. During a Packer game you can buy these cheeseheads in countless shapes and sizes at stores or booths in the stadium. The cheesehead is not only the same color as the packers uniform, but it also symbolizes the type of people we are and what our state is about. We are proud of our culture and by wearing the cheesehead we embrace our agriculture and style of living in Wisconsin. This video from youtube points out what being a cheesehead is all about. During the video they singers say "I'm a cheeshead baby, the pride of Wisconsin." By saying this during the song, it supports the fact that packer fans are proud of who they are, and are not afraid to show it. The cheesehead is a symbol for Packer fans and the entire state of Wisconsin; like the Phantom is a symbol for West De Pere. Its who we are.
