WE BACK THE PACK

http://www.packers.com/community/city_of_green_bay/ - This website gives a brief history on the Packers and how being a community owned team playing teams owned by billionaires is kind of a David Vs. Goliath situation.

The Green Bay Packe
rs were founded in 1919 the historic Earl "Curly" Lambeau. During time period of 1920 to 1930 the Packers were just once of the many small town teams that were first starting up. Through the years, slowly but surely, every other small town team has fallen off the map. Leaving the Packers as the last small town, non-profit, and community owned team, not only in the NFL but in the entire United States.

I think the fact that the people of Gre
en Bay actually own the team is great. Having this since of owner ship by the community is probably one of the many reasons why every Packer game since 1960 has been sold out, I don't think the Vikings can say that. I think the reason for are large fan base is the fact that everyone has a say as to what happens to the team in Green Bay. Owning the team just gives the community a great since of belonging to the storied franchise.

Most teams in the NFL only have one owner who has the power over everyone. A great example of this is Jerry Jones of the Cowboys, he is the only owner and does whatever he wants with his team. I think that is part of the Cowboys downfall every since the 1990's. He makes drastic decisions without consulting anyone about it or by taking a vote on it. With the Packers though, its not just one wild man making the decisions. Everything is voted on and thought through by the community. The Packers belong to Green Bay and Green Bay belongs to the Packers.

Tailgating (Not the one where your driving to close behind someone)

http://www.packersgameday.com/tailgating/packers_tailgating.htm
This website can answer any packers tailgating questions you
might have. It offers great advice on locations and what to bring for the fun before the game.

Every true Packers fan tailgates before they go to a game. Some even tailgate when they aren't even going to the game, that's how fun its is. Tailgating is called tailgating because it is a social event where you sit around an open tailgate of a truck and grill out. Du
ring this time, people play games, drink beverages, and eat snacks. Tailgating specific to the Packers consists of Brats, Beer, and talking about Brett Favre. The article below points out specific items to bring and recipes. Including Dennis' recipe for tailgate beer, which I think Packers fans have mastered.

I think this is a great article and really shows people what it means to be part of the Packer nation. To have fans tailgating at 7:45 in the morning shows dedication, something the Vikings fans lack.

This video shows what its all about in belonging to Packer nation. People base their attire, Sundays, and even their cars around the Packers. To be known nation wide for having great fans and a greater atmosphere for football fun, before and after the game, is a great ho
nor.
